About Piel

Piel, which translates to ‘skin’ in Spanish, is a skincare line founded to bring ultimate hydration and equilibrium to the skin to allow it to heal itself naturally. 

Founded by Miguelina Calderon, after 20 years of working in the skincare industry, both as an esthetician and a brand representative for brands such as Klapp, La Prairie, La Mer, Chantecaille, and others, Miguelina launched Piel after developing dermatitis. At the time, her condition was an unknown allergen and Dermatologists advised it was a severe dehydration of the skin but offered no solution. Miguelina decided to put her knowledge and resources to use, and launch her first product ‘Hydra Fluid’.

‘Hydra Fluid’ is a beautiful serum that acts like a refreshing drink of water to the skin offering hydration and balance to deliver radiance. Take Allantoin, one of the key ingredients in Piel for instance, which contains anti-inflammatory and exfoliating properties. Allantoin protects the skin from losing its suppleness and works well to tackle skin rashes. While another key ingredient, Hyaluronic Acid can help reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well as increase the moisture balance in your skin.

The logo represents product efficacy: the exaggerated long descender of the ‘p’ indicates the deep penetration of the serum while the exaggerated high ascender of the ‘l’ denotes results.

Also if you draw a line from the bottom of the p to the top of the l, it forms a perfect diagonal exactly through the centre of the logo which denotes optimal balance.

Hence the line Hydration + Balance = Radiance.

The repeat pattern used across the packaging which is the i and the l from the brand mark, together show graph-like progress, namely improved skin.

The navy blue is a colour that illustrates depth and expertise, so professional. Blue generally is considered beneficial to the mind and body. The white reflects, purity and wholeness.
